What this group offers and what it doesn't:
This group provides grief support and connection with others who are grieving. It is not individual therapy, a substitute for individualized mental health treatment, or a crisis service. The facilitator cannot provide individualized, ongoing clinical care to each participant within the group.
About the Facilitator:
Catie Hannigan (she/her) is a Professional Counselor Associate and Provisional Art Therapist who works as a school-based mental health therapist at Eastside Child and Family Therapy and as a hospital-based art therapist specialist at Legacy Health. Her background includes grief support work with parents and caregivers at the Dougy Center, clinical experience at Legacy Cancer Healing Center, death doula training, and hospice volunteering.
Having lost her own dad, Catie understands personally that grief is a deeply individual experience without a prescribed timeline. She brings both professional experience and personal understanding to this work, with a warm, relational approach grounded in the belief that there is no single right way to grieve and that sharing space with others can offer meaningful connection as we navigate loss.
