About Lisa
Hello! My name is Lisa (she/her).
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Portland State
University and my Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis &
Clark College. I am also pursuing additional training in eating disorders to better support
individuals experiencing body image concerns and disordered eating.
Life doesn't come with a roadmap, especially when you're navigating change. Whether
you're seeking balance, working through relationship challenges, exploring your identity,
or feeling "stuck," I strive to work alongside you in creating meaningful and lasting
change. I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing life transitions,
communication difficulties, relationship concerns, family conflict, intersecting identities,
and feelings of injustice.
As a first-generation Chinese American, I understand the complexities of balancing
multiple cultural identities, navigating family expectations, and managing the pressures
that can come with living between cultures. My experiences have shaped a culturally
responsive approach that honors each client's unique story and lived experience.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in curiosity. I
believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to create a safe,
nonjudgmental space where we can explore challenges, recognize strengths, and build
on what is already working. I welcome your feedback throughout the process so we can
tailor therapy to best meet your needs.
My work is informed by family systems and relational approaches, drawing from
intergenerational, psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy. Together,
we'll explore relationship patterns, family dynamics, and beliefs that may no longer
serve you while strengthening connections and creating new ways of moving forward.
I am especially passionate about supporting clients navigating cultural identity, body
image, and disordered eating, particularly within BIPOC and historically underserved
communities.
When I am not in the office, I spend time walking my dogs (a feisty German Shepherd
and a Chihuahua with an attitude), running, and baking! I also am very attached to my
e-reader and love to pleasure read.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward meaningful change.
