About Brittany
My name is Brittany, but you can call me ‘Brit’ for short. I am a recent Masters of Social work graduate practicing as a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA). I have 5 years of experience working with youth, primarily with teens that have been deemed high risk. I acknowledge them as underserved. Most of those 5 years were spent working in schools with youth and their families. I have also spent time working with youth involved in Juvenile Courts.
I believe in compassion, empathy, transparency and directness in my approach. I value collaborative care and family involvement as we as people come from a family system. That is part of my primary approach in care, as well as a person-centered / strengths-based lens. I believe in taking steps to empower youth, and for this I believe they need an advocate and an ally. With the right support, they can make positive changes in their lives and define the future they see for themselves.
In my personal time, I am a full-time dog and cat mom. I fancy myself as a handywoman; and am often the first person my friends call when they have a mechanical need. I love a ‘good’ dad joke and will always share a laugh with you. Please feel free to share your movie or show recommendations and (if it’s your interest) any video games you may be enjoying. I define myself as a lifelong learner, and I enjoy learning and growing with my clientele.
