About Maddy

I am a Professional Counselor Associate with a master’s degree in Art Therapy from Lewis and Clark College. I am originally from California but moved to Oregon to pursue my education in art therapy and fell in love with the state! Throughout my life, I have always used art as a means of my own personal expression and emotional processing. I’m a firm believer that everyone is the expert of their own experience and that everyone has their own unique story to share but sometimes it's hard to put your story into words. It was this love of storytelling and visual art that drove me to want to pursue art therapy. But don’t worry, you do not have to be an artist to
participate!
As a practitioner, I value the importance of mental health and its connection to one’s quality of life. I believe the combination of a supportive and positive therapeutic relationship alongside play and art making can create a strong environment for personal growth. In my practice, I draw upon narrative therapy and relational cultural therapy to guide my interventions. These approaches allow me to place importance on person- centered therapy and tailor each session to the personal needs of each client.
