About Michael

Michael Vanpool is a Clinical Social Work Associate who works with children and families ages
0-15. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2016
and holds a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) license. Before joining the practice, Michael
supported elementary students in school settings and worked extensively with refugee families
and children impacted by crime.
Michael’s approach is calm and grounding. He incorporates mindfulness, play, and art-based
techniques to meet each child where they are. Rooted in cultural humility, trauma-informed care,
and a strengths-based perspective, he believes in building healthy resilience through therapy.
His goal is for every child to leave with a custom-tailored toolbox of coping skills to process
trauma, improve relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.
When he’s not in session, you’ll find Michael out walking his dog, relaxing with his two cats,
listening to music, or discovering new parks and trails to explore.

Michael is currently able to see clients with Moda, Regence Blue Cross & OHP/Care Oregon insurance. They also accept private pay; offering a 25% discount for same day payment as well as a sliding scale for all other clients.
